No. Sharry is 100% browser-based. Simply visit sharry.live, click "Share Screen", and you're ready. No downloads, no plugins, no extensions required — for you or your viewers.

Is Sharry free to use?

Yes. Without an account you get a free plan with a 5-minute screen-share budget and 1 viewer per session. Creating an account removes both limits — and during Early Access, that's completely free. Once Early Access ends, keeping unlimited access will require a paid Pro subscription.

Question 3

How secure is screen sharing with Sharry?

All sessions use end-to-end encryption via WebRTC. Your screen data travels directly peer-to-peer between you and your viewers — it never passes through a relay server. Additionally, every session is protected by an auto-generated password (or an invite link).

Which browsers does Sharry support?

Accepted Answer

Sharry works in all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. No browser extensions needed. Both hosts and viewers only need to open a URL.

How many people can watch my screen at the same time?

Without an account, up to 1 viewer can join. Creating an account removes that limit — currently for free, as part of Early Access. Once Early Access ends, unlimited viewers will require a paid Pro subscription.

Can viewers share their screen too, or only the host?

Currently only the host shares their screen. Viewers watch in real time. This makes Sharry ideal for support, demos, presentations, and teaching.

Can I record my screen while sharing?

Yes. After you start sharing as the host, click Record to capture the same live stream. Start and stop as often as you like — each take is saved as its own clip you can download as WebM. Recording does not interrupt viewers. The files stay on your device; Sharry never uploads them. Stopping the share also ends an in-progress recording, because the capture itself stops.

Can I watch a Sharry session on my TV?

Yes. Sharry doesn't need any TV-specific app — a user reached out asking exactly this, and it works through paths you likely already have: (1) a device connected to your TV with its own browser, like a streaming stick, mini PC, or game console, (2) a smart TV with a built-in browser, or (3) a Chromecast with Google TV plus a browser app installed from the Play Store, which we've personally tested and confirmed working. Just open sharry.live/join on that browser and enter the session ID and password. One honest caveat: fullscreen controls on some TV browsers are still a bit rough — we're actively improving this.
